Code of Behaviour

Our policy on behaviour stresses the importance of good adult example in the way we speak to each other and to the children. The way we present ourselves in attitude and dress.

We have high expectations of children's behaviour and good manners and we have written codes of conduct for children  (and adults) with a system of rewards and sanctions.

We know that bullying does exist to some extent in every school so we are constantly vigilant and have written procedures to deal with it, should it ever happen here.

Parents are welcome to come and read our full policy on Behaviour and Discipline.

Each class makes up their own class rules at the beginning of every new school year which all the class have to agree to helping the class to have a happy classroom  environment. This promotes positive learning.

We have got a "house system in our school which is used to reward children for politeness, kindness to others as well as for effort and attainment in their work. Children can collect 'house points' during the week which are totalled up in Friday's assemblies.

Rewards also include stickers, certificates, praise and the opportunity to share their work with other staff and children in our Award of Achievement assemblies on Monday's.

Children know what the consequences of their behavior are and there are posters up in the classroom to remind them. Examples of these are below:
