Welcome to Class 1

During term 3 Class 1 spent the term learning about the Chinese New Year - in all curriculum areas. The children learnt a wondeful traditional Chinese story, the childen ate their snack with chopsticks, the role play area was turned into a wonderful Chinese resturant. The children really enjoyed this topic and learnt a great deal in all subjects. The children especially enjoyed the visit to Waitrose to make a Chinese Noodle Salad and the performance at the end of term to celebrate all their achievements with their parents.

 

 

 

Term 4

This term Class 1 are going to be looking at 3 traditional stories, through the 3 stories will learn many new and exciting skills. We will look at all the subjcts through the 3 stories. class 1 are going to be looking and learning about speech bubbles, captions and story maps. In mathematical development class 1 are going to be learning about measuring, ordering numbers and taking away. Class 1 are also going to be looking at plants and growing, old and new. This terms role play area is a cottage where characters from the traditional stories live, the children have made a wonderful message to go into the role play area.

 

 

 

Creative Deveopment / Design Technology, Art and Music

This term we are going to continuing our music lessons with Mrs Rendell we are going to be learning lots of new action songs and we are going to begin to learn songs which go with our topic tradtional stories. In Design Technology we are going to be designing and making bread, like The Little Red Hen. In art we are going to be making salt dough sculptures of The Three Bears.

Physical Developement / P.E and Sport

Class 1 are continuing with dance this term, we are going to be focusing on a unit of dance called the Bear Boogie, the children are really enjoying dancing to jungle book music! Every friday morning class 1 will have sport outside (weather permitting) with Mr Adlam. Remember to have some tracksuit bottoms for cold mornings

R.E - This term Class 1 are learning the Easter Story with Mrs Rendell every Friday. The Children have already tried Hot Cross Buns!!

Wednesday Cooking!

Every Wednesday class 1 either go to the Barford site to use the wonderful cooking facilties or cook in small groups on the Wilton site. Each week the children learn a new skill while making a fabulous creation,which we try to link into our topic.Don't forget your plastic containers to take your cooking home in!

It is going to be a busy term and the children will also be celebrating Easter!!
